Did you know that termites swarm when dogwoods bloom? Well, it’s that time of year again. The dogwoods are turning lovely shades of pink and white, which only means it’s time to check for termites. These critters cause more damage to homes each year than fires, floods and windstorms combined. Yet, termite damage is not covered by homeowners insurance in Atlanta. As termites become adults, they molt and drop their wings.•    Paint that appears to blister. Usually found indoors, blistered paint can be found in your basement or near your foundation too.Also, look for the termites themselves. Worker termites are white and wingless, while the reproductive males and the queens have wings and are usually black or brown in color.
